Itinerary
Day 1: Tangier - Rif Mountains - Chefchaouen
Your Morocco Student Group Tour From Tangier starts with pick-up from your accommodation, port, airport, or train station in Tangier. After meeting your driver, we leave the city and drive through northern Morocco towards the Rif Mountains.
The road passes through mountain landscapes, small villages, and panoramic viewpoints before reaching Chefchaouen. This blue-painted town is one of the most peaceful places in northern Morocco and offers a good introduction to local architecture, daily life, and mountain culture.
After arrival, the group will have free time to explore the old medina, walk through the blue streets, visit the main square, and take photos around the town.
Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel or riad in Chefchaouen.
Day 2: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes
After breakfast, the group will have more free time in Chefchaouen before leaving towards Volubilis. The road passes through hills, villages, and open countryside.
Volubilis is one of Morocco’s most important Roman archaeological sites. The group will have time to explore the ruins, old columns, mosaics, and historic remains that show the Roman presence in Morocco.
After visiting Volubilis, we continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. In Meknes, the group can visit the old medina area, Bab Mansour, and historical places linked to the city’s imperial past.
After the visit, we continue towards Fes. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel or riad in Fes.
Day 3: Fes Sightseeing Tour With A Local Guide
After breakfast, the group will meet a local guide for a sightseeing tour of Fes, one of Morocco’s oldest imperial cities. The visit can include the old medina, narrow streets, traditional souks, historic gates, old schools, and artisan areas.
Students will discover how traditional crafts are made, how the medina is organized, and why Fes is one of Morocco’s most important cultural cities. The visit may also include the famous tanneries and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the old city.
Lunch can be taken inside or near the medina. In the afternoon, the group returns to the accommodation.
Dinner and overnight stay will be in Fes.
Day 4: Fes - Ifrane - Cedar Forest - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, we leave Fes and travel towards the Sahara desert. The route passes through Ifrane, known for its mountain atmosphere and clean streets.
After Ifrane, we continue to the cedar forest near Azrou, where Barbary monkeys can sometimes be seen in their natural surroundings. This stop gives the group a short nature break before continuing through the Middle Atlas Mountains.
The journey continues towards Midelt, then through the Ziz Valley, famous for its palm groves and panoramic views. Several stops can be made along the way for photos and short explanations about the region.
By the afternoon or evening, we arrive in Merzouga, near the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel or riad near the desert.
Day 5: Explore Merzouga Area - Khamlia - Camel Trekking - Desert Camp
After breakfast, we start exploring the Merzouga area. The visit can include Khamlia village, known for its Gnawa music, and nearby desert areas with black volcanic landscapes around the dunes.
The group may also visit nomad families living around the desert region and learn more about their traditional way of life. The route continues through small desert villages, palm areas, and viewpoints around Erg Chebbi.
In the afternoon, the group will prepare for the camel trek. Everyone will ride camels across the golden dunes and enjoy the sunset over the Sahara. A 4x4 transfer can be arranged as an alternative to camels.
After the camel trek, the group will reach the desert camp. Dinner will be served at the camp, followed by a peaceful night under the stars. Overnight stay will be in desert tents.
Day 6: Merzouga Desert - Rissani - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley
Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes before breakfast at the camp. After breakfast, we leave Merzouga and drive towards Rissani, a historic town known for its traditional market and old caravan history.
After Rissani, we continue through Erfoud and desert landscapes towards Todra Gorges. These high rocky cliffs are one of the most impressive natural sites in southern Morocco, with time to walk through the gorge and enjoy the scenery.
After visiting Todra Gorges, the journey continues through Tinghir and the valley road towards Dades Valley. Along the way, the group will see palm groves, kasbahs, rock formations, and mountain views.

Day 7: Dades Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - High Atlas Mountains - Marrakech
After breakfast, we leave Dades Valley and continue through the Rose Valley and Skoura palm groves towards Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the desert.
The journey continues to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, one of Morocco’s most famous fortified villages and a strong example of traditional earthen architecture. This stop is useful for learning about kasbah architecture, old caravan routes, and traditional building methods.
After the visit, we cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka pass. Several stops can be made along the way for panoramic views, photos, and short breaks.
