Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Valley

Your Morocco Honeymoon Desert Tour From Marrakech starts in the morning with pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech. We leave the city and drive towards the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka pass with several stops for panoramic views and photos.

Along the way, you will pass traditional Berber villages and mountain landscapes before reaching Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. This ancient fortified village is one of Morocco’s most famous kasbahs and is known for its traditional earthen architecture.

After visiting Ait Ben Haddou, we continue to Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the desert. The journey continues through Skoura and the Rose Valley before reaching Dades Valley.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel or riad in Dades Valley.

Day 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, we continue the journey through the desert road towards Todra Gorges. These high rocky cliffs are one of the most impressive natural sites in southern Morocco, with time to walk and enjoy the views.

After visiting Todra Gorges, we continue through Tinghir, Tinjdad, and Erfoud before arriving in Merzouga, near the dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Upon arrival in Merzouga, you will ride camels across the golden dunes and enjoy the sunset over the Sahara. After the camel trek, you will reach the desert camp.

Dinner will be served at the camp. In the evening, you can relax under the stars and enjoy the quiet desert atmosphere. Overnight stay will be in a private desert tent.

Day 3: Explore Merzouga Area - Khamlia - Nomad Families - Desert Hotel

Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes before breakfast at the camp. After breakfast, we return from the camp and begin exploring the Merzouga area.

The visit can include Khamlia village, known for its Gnawa music, and nearby desert areas with black volcanic landscapes around the dunes. You may also visit nomad families living around the desert region and learn more about their traditional way of life.

The route continues through small desert villages, palm areas, and viewpoints around Erg Chebbi. This day gives you more time to enjoy the Sahara at a slower and more relaxed pace.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel or riad near Merzouga.

Day 4: Merzouga Desert - Rissani - Alnif - Draa Valley - Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we leave Merzouga and drive towards Rissani, a historic town known for its traditional market and old caravan history.

After visiting Rissani, the journey continues through Alnif and the desert landscapes of southern Morocco before reaching the Draa Valley. This long palm valley is known for its old kasbahs, traditional villages, palm groves, and desert atmosphere.

We continue through the valley road towards Agdz and then Ouarzazate. Along the way, several stops can be made for photos, coffee, or short breaks.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel or riad in Ouarzazate.

Day 5: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - High Atlas Mountains - Marrakech

After breakfast, we leave Ouarzazate and begin the return journey to Marrakech. Depending on time, we can stop again near Ait Ben Haddou or continue directly towards the High Atlas Mountains.

The road crosses the Tizi n’Tichka pass, with several stops for panoramic views, photos, and short breaks. You will pass mountain villages and beautiful landscapes before reaching Marrakech.
