After visiting Chefchaouen, the tour returns south through the Middle Atlas Mountains, Ifrane, the cedar forest, Midelt, and the Ziz Valley before reaching Merzouga. In the Sahara desert, you will ride camels across the dunes of Erg Chebbi, enjoy the sunset, and spend the night in a desert camp under the stars.

Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Draa Valley - Zagora

Your 3 Days Desert Tour From Marrakech to Mhamid starts in the morning with pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech. We leave the city and drive towards the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka pass with several stops for photos and panoramic views.

Along the way, you will pass traditional Berber villages before reaching Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. This ancient fortified village is one of the most famous kasbahs in Morocco and is known for its traditional earthen buildings.

After visiting Ait Ben Haddou, we continue to Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the desert. From there, the road follows the Draa Valley, famous for its long palm groves, old kasbahs, and desert scenery.

We continue through Agdz and several southern villages before arriving in Zagora. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel or riad in Zagora.

Day 2: Zagora - Tamegroute - Mhamid Desert

After breakfast, we continue the journey through the Draa Valley towards the deeper south. The road passes through palm groves, small desert villages, and old caravan landscapes.

We will stop in Tamegroute, a village known for its traditional pottery and old religious heritage. After the visit, we continue towards Mhamid El Ghizlane, the last village before the open Sahara.

Upon arrival in Mhamid, you will ride camels across the desert landscape and enjoy the sunset on the dunes. After the camel trek, you will reach the desert camp.

Dinner will be served at the camp. In the evening, you can relax under the stars and enjoy the peaceful desert atmosphere. Overnight stay will be in a desert tent.

Day 3: Mhamid - Draa Valley - Ouarzazate - High Atlas Mountains - Marrakech

Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the desert before breakfast at the camp. After breakfast, we leave Mhamid and begin the return journey to Marrakech.

The road takes us back through the Draa Valley, passing Zagora, Agdz, and Ouarzazate. Several stops can be made along the way for photos, coffee, or short breaks.

After Ouarzazate, we cross the High Atlas Mountains again through the Tizi n’Tichka pass. By the late afternoon or evening, we arrive back in Marrakech.
