Itinerary
Day 1: Ouarzazate - Agdz - Draa Valley - Zagora
Your 3 Days Desert Tour From Ouarzazate to Erg Chigaga Desert starts in the morning with pick-up from your accommodation in Ouarzazate. We leave the city and drive towards Agdz, passing through southern landscapes and mountain views.
After Agdz, the journey continues through the Draa Valley, famous for its long palm groves, old kasbahs, traditional villages, and desert atmosphere. Several stops can be made along the way for panoramic views and photos.
We continue towards Zagora, a historic desert town connected to old caravan routes. Depending on time, you can enjoy a short walk in the town or relax at your accommodation.
Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel or riad in Zagora.
Day 2: Zagora - Tamegroute - Mhamid - Erg Chigaga Desert
After breakfast, we continue south through the Draa Valley towards the deeper desert. The road passes through palm groves, desert villages, and open southern landscapes before reaching Tamegroute.
Tamegroute is known for its traditional pottery and old religious heritage. After the visit, we continue towards Mhamid El Ghizlane, one of the last villages before the open Sahara.
From Mhamid, the journey continues by 4x4 across desert tracks, rocky plains, and sand landscapes towards Erg Chigaga. This part of the tour gives you a more remote Sahara experience away from the main roads.
Upon arrival in Erg Chigaga, you will ride camels across the dunes and enjoy the sunset over the desert. After the camel trek, you will return to the desert camp.
Dinner will be served at the camp. In the evening, you can relax under the stars and enjoy the silence of the Sahara. Overnight stay will be in a desert tent.
Day 3: Erg Chigaga - Lake Iriqui - Foum Zguid - Taznakht - Ouarzazate
Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over Erg Chigaga before breakfast at the camp. After breakfast, we leave the desert and drive across the wild Sahara landscapes towards Lake Iriqui.
The route passes through dry lake scenery, rocky plains, and remote desert tracks before reaching Foum Zguid, where the paved road begins again.
After a short break, we continue towards Taznakht, a town known for traditional Moroccan carpets and local crafts. The journey continues through southern landscapes and small villages before reaching Ouarzazate.
