Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Draa Valley - Mhamid
Your 2 Days Desert Tour From Marrakech to Mhamid starts in the morning with pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech. We leave the city and drive towards the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka pass with several stops for panoramic views and photos.
Along the road, you will pass small Berber villages built into the mountains before reaching Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. This historic fortified village is one of the most famous kasbahs in southern Morocco and is known for its traditional clay architecture.
After visiting Ait Ben Haddou, we continue to Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the desert. From there, the road follows the Draa Valley, where palm groves, kasbahs, and old villages stretch along the valley.
We continue through Agdz, Zagora, and the southern desert villages before arriving in Mhamid El Ghizlane. After arrival, you will ride camels across the desert landscape and enjoy the sunset before reaching the camp.
Dinner will be served at the desert camp. In the evening, you can relax under the stars and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Sahara.
Day 2: Mhamid - Draa Valley - Ouarzazate - High Atlas Mountains - Marrakech
Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the desert before breakfast at the camp. After breakfast, we leave Mhamid and drive back through the Draa Valley, with time to enjoy the palm groves and desert views along the way.
The return journey passes again through Zagora, Agdz, and Ouarzazate before crossing the High Atlas Mountains. Several stops can be made for photos, coffee, or short breaks.
